In this guide, everything you need to know to launch Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC.

Don't forget to also check out the complete Fallout 4 cheats and guide tab for other useful guides on this game.

First of all make sure you have downloaded the DLC. It seems trivial, but keep in mind that the download does not start automatically even for owners of the Season Pass.

Once the DLC is installed, launch Fallout 4 and check the add-ons section in the menu before launching the game. If Far Harbor is not listed as an add-on, you need to close the game and restart. Note that you may need to do this a couple of times if the package has just been downloaded. When Far Harbor appears in the list of installed DLCs you can start the game.

The only one requirement in order to play the Far Harbor missions is to have completed the quest "Getting a clue", one of the first main missions, that is, you must have arrived in Diamond City and met Nick Valentine.

Once this is done, go to the northeast corner of the map where you will find one new available area called "Nakano Residence". Here you will meet parents looking for their missing daughter. Talk to them and take the daughter's last holotape from the boat safe (there is a safe key in the frame next to the safe).

Talk to the parents again, they will offer you their boat. Accept and climb aboard to reach the mission area of the Far Harbor DLC.
