Since the days of PlayStation 3, play online it is certainly one of the most interesting aspects of the videogame world also for Sony. In fact, there are many who buy a console - or a PC - only and exclusively to play with their friends on the network, favoring multiplayer experiences to those in single. With the advent of consoles next-gen, including the flagship Sony PlayStation 5, things have not changed at all and, for this reason, already from the previous generation various services have been introduced for all users who like to spend their time online. PlayStation Plus e PlayStation Now they represent an incredible opportunity for all players, but how exactly do they work?
Play online on PlayStation 5
Playing online on PlayStation 5 is very simple, but it requires an important requirement: before starting you will need to log in to yours PSN account. To do this, you must verify that you are connected to the internet. Then head to the settings, select Network and subsequently Check the status of your internet connection. If the latter option is not available, it means that you have not yet connected your console to the internet. From the Network tab then select Settings, then press on Configure internet connection. From here, just follow the on-screen procedure, whether you want to use a connection WiFi, whether you want to use the LAN cable.
At this point you will finally be able to log into your PSN account. Again, fortunately, this is a very simple procedure. You will need to go to the console settings, select Users and accounts, then Accounts and Log in. From here you can enter your account email and password, or log in using the PS App, available for free on the App Store for iOS devices and on the PlayStore for Android devices. In case you don't have one, you will need to create an account. Also from the email and password entry screen, you can select the item "Create an account". Once you have completed the procedure indicated on the screen, you can finally play online.
PlayStation Plus
As many of you may know, most of the titles available on PlayStation 5 require a subscription to the PlayStation Plus to access the possibility to play online. It is in fact a very small slice to make an exception, such as, for example, the very famous Fortnite Battle Royale, That is Free subscription and does not require any subscription to play online.
To access the online services of the other titles, however, you will need to subscribe to the PlayStation Plus. To do so, enter the PlayStation Store and, from the Subscriptions section, look for the tab dedicated to PlayStation Plus. From here, select SUBSCRIBE and, following the procedure, you can purchase one of the subscription plans provided: 12 months to 59,99 €, 3 months to 24,99 € e 1 month for € 8,99.
Playing online is not the only one of the services offered by PlayStation Plus: by subscribing you will have access to various exclusive contents and discounts and to some free monthly games, which will be yours for the duration of the subscription (which you will no longer be able to use in case of interruption, but which will be reactivated and downloadable when you want once the subscription is reactivated). Also exclusively for PlayStation 5, PlayStation Plus users can access the PS Plus Collection, a collection of free downloadable and playable titles.
PlayStation Now
Another of the services made available by Sony, however, allows you to play hundreds of games for PS4, PS3 and PS2. It is obviously about PlayStation Now, a subscription service that allows you to stream over 700 titles. Only the PlayStation 4 titles are in fact downloadable on your console, all other games, however, must be used in streaming. It is therefore obvious that, among the most important requirements, there is that of having a stable internet connection that can support cloud gaming. Once you have verified this, you can proceed to sign up for the subscription. To do this, enter the PlayStation Store and, from the Subscriptions section, look for the tab dedicated to PlayStation Now. As with the PS Plus, select SUBSCRIBE and you can buy one of the subscription plans provided: 12 months to 59,99 €, 3 months to 24,99 € e 1 month for € 9,99.
