Pokemon GO: guide to making the best use of Eggs

In this guide we see how eggs are obtained and how they are used in Pokemon GO.

Don't forget to also consult the complete Pokemon GO cheats and guide tab for other useful guides on this game.

To get new Pokemon, one of the alternative methods to catching (already covered in the guide to find and catch new Pokemon in Pokemon GO) is to hatch the eggs.

First of all you need to know that to get the eggs just visit the Pokéstop. As we have already explained in the Pokemon GO Pokestop guide, in fact, by visiting the Pokestops you can get different types of rewards, among which there are also eggs.

Once an egg is found, there you will need an incubator to have the chance to hatch it. At the start of the game each player has an incubator in their inventory that has infinite uses, this can only handle one egg at a time. Remember that it is possible to have additional incubators as a reward when you level up, but keep in mind that these last only for three uses.

If, on the other hand, you are willing to pay real money then you should know that incubators with unlimited uses can be bought in the shop ...

The eggs are divided into three types that differ according to the km that must be traveled to hatch them: there are 2 km, 5 km and 10 km eggs. Do not get strange ideas: if you go by car to quickly grind the km the software will realize that you are going a little too fast and will disable the tracking. The advice is therefore to go on foot or at most by bike, but in the latter case being careful not to go too fast.

Obviously remember to have Pokemon GO running and eggs in the incubator as you walkotherwise it will all be wasted effort.

Which Pokemon you will find when the egg hatches is more a matter of luck: surely with the 2 km eggs there are more common Pokemon, while for the rarer ones you have to hatch the eggs from 10 km. If you want to know which Pokemon you can find in the different types of eggs then consult the List of Pokemon of 2 km, 5 km and 10 km found in Pokemon GO Eggs.
