Atari: the first (gigantic) hotel is shown in the first pictures

At this time, a Las Vegas, the first hotel in Atari. The structure is built by the architectural firm Gensler. The building is in the shape of the Atari logo, the note A with neon accents. In fact the mind behind it all, Napoelon Smith III, stated that the aesthetic is a mix of cyberpunk and 80s nostalgia. The idea for the project came to his mind when he saw on a character's shirt Stranger Things the Atari logo, realizing that the brand could still have some retro and nostalgic appeal.

The hotel aims to provide a service to fans of the sector:

I go to Comic-On every year. What I've noticed is that these spaces, Comic-On and the world of video games, have their own conventions. They have their own media. But they don't have any hospitality suited to their lifestyle.

The rooms will provide customers with a number of game consoles and a huge library of titles to play. Smith likened it to a modern day fishing trip, where friends get together on weekends with common activities, only here it is with video games. He also claims that the place could be a ideal environment for software houses to present projects or allow testing of their products in development.

    He continued with the statements:

Does your controller break? Boom we have another one for you. Technical support will provide it to you, 24 hours a day, in minutes. If you need a small cool box with nothing but Red Bull and Hot Pockets because you have a huge play session with your team, you are one of us.

The hotel is expected to open in 2022. The selected site is 5 acres, but its final location is still unknown. The company aims to expand this project also in other cities. Speaking of retro, we remind you that the release date of Intellivision Friend, i.e. October 1, 2021.
