2K has recently announced that a new title dedicated to the saga of BioShock is under development at Cloud Chamber. The software house in question, recently founded with offices in San Francisco and Montreal, is formed by "a collective of storytellers eager to push interactive entertainment to the forefront by creating unique, fun and thoughtful experiences that involve the world". According to the statements of 2K and Cloud Chamber, the new title will be "developed in the next few years". Here are the words of David Ismailer, president of 2K:

Our intention is to grow our "catalog" of products, without neglecting our precious IPs, entrusting them to competent teams and believing in their potential. BioShock is one of the most loved, critically acclaimed and highest rated franchises of the latest generation of consoles. We can't wait to see its powerful narrative and iconic gameplay in the future, thanks in part to the work of the guys from Cloud Chamber.

Both studies of the software house will be led by Kelley Gilmore, who has significant experience in various areas of game development and publishing. Gilmore has previously worked on the Civilization and XCOM franchises at 2K.

“We founded Cloud Chamber to create undiscovered worlds that push the boundaries of what's possible,” Gilmore said. “Our team believes in the beauty and strength of diversity, both in the composition of the studio and in the nature of its way of thinking. We are a group of highly experienced creators. We are honored to be part of the 2K family and to “direct” this iconic franchise ”. Although Cloud Chamber e 2K have not specified any launch window of the game or on which platforms it will be available, it is very likely that the new one BioShock will be released for PS5, Xbox Scarlett e PC, as the project is still under development.
