In the course of his quest to gain power, King Allant, the twelfth king of Boletaria, channeled the arts of the soul, awakening a demon from the dawn of time, the Ancient. With the summoning of the Ancient, a colorless mist spread over the earth, releasing monstrous creatures hungry for the souls of humans. Those who were deprived of their souls went out of their minds, and wanted nothing more than to attack the healthy people who remained.
Today, Boletaria is cut off from the rest of the world and the knights who dare to penetrate the thick fog to rid the land of its plague never return.
