DOOM Eternal: the director evaluated a female Doom Slayer, will it arrive in the future?

The Game Director is live streaming on Twitch Hugo martin he said he would have liked to introduce one DOOM Slayer woman inside DOOM Eternal, a title published in March 2020 on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia, and then landed on the small hybrid console from Nintendo, Switch, last December. What if I thought about introducing a female DOOM Slayer to DOOM Eternal? Yes, I've thought about it. When that happens, my efforts will be on having a female DOOM Slayer have a significant impact on gameplay. He should be a lethal character and it would be interesting how he could impact Glory Kills and the types of weapons he could equip. The fighting style would certainly be aggressive, no doubt, but a different kind of aggression.

In the DOOM shooter series the protagonist, the Doom Slayer, in fact, has always been a male character, also nicknamed "Doomguy" by many fans of the series. The inclusion of a female character in a future chapter of DOOM would represent an absolute novelty. Hugo Martin further added:

When it comes to designing the action you think, 'If the Slayer were a Ferrari, then what could a female fighter be? Some kind of medieval-style huntress? How could all this affect the balance of the gameplay? '. It would certainly be nice to be able to introduce such a novelty, in any case.
