Elden Ring: the concept artist shares some unpublished images of the game

Although Elden Ring, the new project by FromSoftware and born from the collaboration between the director Hidetaka Miyazaki and the fantasy novelist George RR Martin, is still without an official release date after more than a year from the last update, the action RPG by Bandai Namco returns to be talked about thanks to new images shared by the concept artist Gabriel Björk Stiernström. According to what emerged from ArtStation and reddit, the concept art disseminated would have been created by the artist on the occasion of the creation of the reveal trailer of the game, shown on the stage of theE3 2019.

I worked on Elden Ring's “E3 2019 reveal Trailer” and these keyframes and concepts are just a selection of the work I did for the trailer. I enjoy sharing some of the work that I am proud of.

Digic Pictures has only dealt with part of the announcement trailer, the one relating to the figure hammering in the dark. This was my first project in Digic Pictures and I made these concepts two years ago, in January 2019. I had no idea what I was working on; the only thing i knew is that FromSoftware was the client. I first learned about the project and title when everyone else did it at E3. So, I hope this explains how little I really know about the game.

Although many of the concepts shown were used by FromSoftware for the realization of the reveal trailer shown atE3 2019, images shared by Stiernström, and which you can conveniently find at the bottom of the article, allow us to take a closer look at alternative versions of the scepter and the altar appeared in the announcement video. It is worth underlining that the artist himself reiterated, in his very long post on reddit, that he knows nothing of the highly anticipated project by Bandai Namco, since he worked on the title in strict confidence, and that fans can deduce from his concept art anything they want.
