Extra Coin, announced with a trailer the new title from the creators of The Wardrobe

It's been almost four years now since CINIC Games announced The Wardrobe, 2D graphic adventure released on PC, PlayStation 4 e Nintendo Switch. At the time we posted a preview in which we praised the software house's desire to "dare" in creating a captivating and fun "point and click" title, full of puzzles and references to the world of cinema and pop culture in general. Following the success of The Wardrobe, CINIC Games announced with a trailer his new game, called Extra Coin. This is a adventure title set in the social network named "The Arcade", within which mysterious and obscure events occur. Thanks to Press release released by the software house and which we report below, you can learn about some important aspects of the game's plot and know the name of the protagonist, Mika Wattson:

2066, city of Hangzhou - Mika Wattson, left alone in the world after the death of her grandfather, decides to join The Arcade, the hated social network that snatched her parents away from her: after joining the Extra Coin program, both they are in fact permanently connected to the virtual world, abandoning their earthly existences. Mika discovers in spite of herself that the medallion given to her by her grandfather before he died, has the ability to reveal the identity of the users of The Arcade, violating one of the three rules of the social network and thus managing to unearth dark secrets.

As emerges from the plot, the game will therefore focus on the search for the secrets that surround the virtual reality that dominates and “engulfs” society, a clear reference to the abuse of the use of social networks that also characterizes the real context in which we live. This reference is also mentioned in the statements of Francesco Liotta, director of CINIC Games, released on the sidelines of the presentation of the game to the press:

After The Wardrobe we wanted to raise the bar of ambitions. It was not easy to work in full covid emergency but we are really satisfied with the work done so far. We felt the need to offer players an adventure experience with multiple game possibilities. We have built a universe with a unique lore, thanks to which we wanted to tell you an extremely profound story, which will not fail to make you reconsider the daily use of social networks. Waiting for Extra Coin to hit the market in course of 2021 on PC and console, it will be possible to follow the development of the title on Steam and on Discord channel dedicated. CINIC Games has also announced that over the next few weeks it will be possible to try the game through a playable beta.
