Hello to all dear users of Resources4Gaming, today we are going to analyze and review for you Halo 5: Guardians!

    Halo 5: Guardians - Review

After nearly three years, 343 Industries returns with perhaps the very first chapter of Halo entirely made by her without the heavy shadow of Bungie. Will she have succeeded in making the previous development team forget for good? And above all, will he have understood and solved the problems existing in Halo 4? Let's find out together.

    Locke and Master Chief

The single player campaign for Halo 5: Guardians is based entirely on the dichotomous relationship between Locke and Master Chief. The beauty of using the ongoing war with the Prometheans as a background to make their stories move and intertwine, in my opinion, is perhaps one of the few things that have succeeded within a not very linear campaign. The plot will simply be a run-up, ordered by the Oni, of Locke against the "deserter" Master Chief.

The campaign consists of 15 missions, 12 will have as protagonist Team Osiris led by Locke. This choice is very risky since, without having followed the series Nightfall, it will be really difficult to be able to digest and understand all this time the presence and especially the personality of Locke. On the other hand we will have Master Chief flanked by the famous Team Blue, unfortunately we will only be able to enjoy it for 3 missions. Why only 3? This is perhaps one of the things that most left the void inside me, a character in an evident identity crisis and above all "alone" after Cortana's death, forced (again due to the decidedly unsuccessful plot) to limit himself only to trivial shootings or moments, so touching, but not enough to create in the least psychointrospective continuity of the character between Halo 4 and this chapter.

Although therefore the quality of the story is not exceptional, the Halo 5: Guardians campaign has something magnetic about it. The merit is obviously the intense gameplay and the resounding replayability of the title. Although we are faced with a good story flanked by graphics and sound of an excellent level, the ease with which you proceed within the levels has left me quite thrilled. Used from an early age to poison my soul between one chapter and the other of the previous Halo campaigns, I found myself facing a really easy challenge; the biggest problem is the ability to revive and be revived, Gears of War style.

Concluding, therefore, this continuous alternation between the events of Locke and Master Chief flanked by a weak and poorly exploited plot makes the campaign of Halo 5: Guardians the weak link in the chain. Leaving aside that in just seven hours, on Normal difficulty, it can be completed….the biggest problem is the incompleteness that transpires in the end. A truly anonymous beginning and development of the plot ultimately leads to a climax that captures the interest and the desire to "know", but that does not conclude anything. Good foundations have been laid to develop this new story arc, we hope that with the next chapter all this will finally be made clear.

Multiplayer, lots of quantity and quality

The multiplayer sector of Halo 5: Guardians has been heavily revised and modified, after the obvious errors of the previous chapter, by 343 Industries.

    Halo 5: Guardians - Review

First of all, let's start saying, or rather screaming, that we have finally returned to the glories of the past. Goodbye game classes, goodbye permanent bubbles / invisibility / jetpacks that had caused Halo to lose competitiveness. Finally, a big step back has been taken, however, proposing a breath of fresh air and general renewal. Modes available at launch are the following:

    - Arena at Square

    - Massacre

    - Escape, a really fun and pure hardcore new mode

    - Free for all

    - Swat

The online component is the main pillar of Halo 5: Guardians, it manages to involve the player right from the start, thus making the gaming experience magnificent. Many are the innovations introduced, let's analyze them:

    - Iron Sight: All weapons can now aim, even the classic Spartan Rifle. This option has been implemented and above all designed a lot in such a way that the player cannot abuse it too much, in fact by pressing the left trigger you zoom in on the target, aiming does not slow down the soldier's movements but in case you are hit we are sent back to the target. regular view. Initially it is not easy to get used to it, then over time everything will be fluid.

    - Rhythms of play and running decidedly accelerated and more frenetic, do not expect a similar copy of Call of Duty as this title has an out of the ordinary character and personality

    - The introduction of shields now makes the 1 vs 1 challenges real duels to the death

    - Ranking system and therefore a really well done matchmaking

    - Return to the timed weapon generator throughout the map, however, introducing the possibility of knowing where it will be generated and especially when it will be done

    Warzone time!

And finally, here we are talking about the biggest news introduced in Halo 5: Guardians, the Warzone! This mode a excellent combination of PvE and PvP, is the Halo universe shrunk down and put on a (huge) map. We will be able to use EVERYTHING, any type of weapon and vehicle!

Warzone mode is at times reminiscent of Titanfall, takes place in large maps with 24 players maximum, here each faction has two bases with core available and there are 3 bases to conquer in order to attack the enemy core. The first team to reach 1000 points or destroy the opponent's core wins.

The map is populated not only by enemies (Covenant and Promethean), but also by opponents controlled by the AI who, if defeated, give points based on their danger. The extent of the maps is considerable, and inside them are scattered terminals where you can use the cards found in Requisition Pack (microtransactions), to get more powerful weapons than the basic ones, or very useful vehicles to quickly explore the map.

Fun is guaranteed, I highly recommend you to test this mode together with your friends!
