    Hitman - Episode 1 - Review

Agent 47 is back, the ruthless cold-blooded killer, the quick-change guy par excellence, but this time in a rather special guise. We are in fact in front of Hitman the new Next-Gen console game, which by choice of Square Enix, will be released in episodes. Obviously we at Resources4Gaming, at the release of every single episode we will be ready to tell you what we think. We remind you that every vote you see will analyze the episode itself, and not the entirety of the game. The vote and the final judgment of the game can be found after the release of the last episode.

The game will open in front of you with a tutorial disguised as a prologue to the story, where we will discover the first day when Agent 47 entered the renowned ICA agency, meeting his shoulder of a thousand stories, Diana Burnwood. The game, starting from this incipit, will not have a linear story, but will be composed of single missions inspired by the Blood Monday chapter and abandoning the linear structure seen in Absolution. But if the maps of the previous games were big enough for each mission, this time they are huge: 6/7 times bigger than the maps seen in the last chapter, they are real "sandbox missions" with maximum freedom and virtually infinite space.

The game, at least in this first episode rewards ingenuity and creativity, allowing more than 10 possible approaches to kill the two bad guys: disguised as guests at the show or as a model himself, entering as any criminal or as one of the most important sheikhs, the choice is granted to you, the players. In this way the bar that measures the replayability of the title is raised by far. Furthermore, at the beginning of the mission, you will be able to choose whether to place certain objects in certain positions on the map, where to start and even with which outfit to start. Each large weapon cannot be hidden within the inventory, while small weapons and various objects can be hidden and used at the right time.

From a technical point of view, Hitman does not improve the formula already used in Absolution, but relies on a proven and reliable system, which will allow you to do what you want within the map, from hiding objects in litter bins, to poisoning every glass of sparkling wine on the table, all with a fluidity rare on consoles. Interesting is the addition of a white dot above the enemies who suspect you, avoiding the inconvenience seen in the first chapters, which gave each soldier the opportunity to recognize you out of the blue.

An aid in the game will be given by the tracking of sub-objectives, allowing you to choose which way to go to kill the target: this function greatly facilitates the game but, if you are a veteran of the series, you can also not use it and rely only on your sense of killer. A last sentence should be dedicated to instinct, a function that can be activated with R1 / RB, which will slow down time and allow you to see the silhouettes of each person in a certain range of action, while preventing you from being able to shoot or use objects. Entertaining the online challenge function with players from all over the globe, ranking time and various scores within a detailed ranking system. Finally, you can create your own missions, and then share them with online users, choosing objectives, gadgets and everything else.
