Is Uncharted 5 in the works at Sony's new

According to what emerged in recent days on the web, the new "secret" study of PlayStation based in San Diego, Visual Arts, he hired Zak Oliver, one of the artists of N who worked not only on The Last of Us, Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, but also on the very recent The Last of Us Part 2. Confirmation comes from the same profile LinkedIn of Oliver, proving that he moved to the mysterious first-party studio of the Japanese giant just this month, taking on the role of Senior Environment Artist. It would seem that the transition to the new development team has been completed once work with The Last of Us Part 2 is done.

As announced last 2018 by the same Fiona Cherbak, now a former PlayStation Talent Acquisition Lead, the studio was looking for a Gameplay Animator, who would work on a new development team in collaboration with one of the largest first-parties in Sony Studios. N he's always been the number one suspect, and the new title in the works at Visual Arts should be a third-person action adventure. So, all the clues point to Sony intending to continue the iconic saga of Uncharted. The choice of wanting to continue the "vicissitudes" of Nathan Drake and Sully would not surprise us, given that in recent months N and several Sony and Naughty Dog employees have made "ambiguous" statements about a possible Uncharted 5.

At the moment we do not know the projects in the pipeline of the new Sony software house, and if the title in question is a spin-off (along the lines of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy) or a continuation of the main saga, to find out more we would most likely have to wait for the debut of PlayStation 5, scheduled for Christmas festivities of the 2020.
