Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 is reborn in 4K and ray tracing thanks to a mod

For years now, many fans have been clamoring for a return of Raziel and the series Legacy of Kain, which unfortunately seems to have fallen out of favor even after the cancellation of 'Dead Sun', the alleged sequel-reboot of the series that unfortunately did not convince Square Enix way back in 2021 and no longer financed the project. The fans of this historic series, however, do not seem to give up and in recent weeks the youtuber Sanadsk created a particular mod for Soul Reaver 2, which shows it in all its beauty with a 4K resolution and active ray tracing. This user, well known in the community of lovers of the Soulslike genre, has decided to "show how it could be a Legacy of Kain on PlayStation 5", with the desire that maybe sooner or later this historic franchise can come back into vogue.

There have been a lot of rumors about many remakes and remasters coming to PlayStation 5, including the Legacy of Kain series. It would be a perfect opportunity to have a great return of Raziel and Soul Reaver, sooner or later! In this video I wanted to show you my “remake” of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 with a resolution in 4K and with the ray tracing technology always active. I'd like to bring a series of videos here on my channel showing some classic games with RTX and next-gen graphics. Not only will I be exploring the game in these videos, but I will try to bring to life the remakes that all of us fans hope to see soon.

In this gameplay, the original visuals of the game and those of the new mod are compared, in which we can see some cutscene and some exploration and action sequences with a wonderful 4K resolution, which shines even more thanks to the presence of the ray tracing technology that gives even more emphasis to light reflections. It would really be a dream to come back to control Raziel with a remake of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, which we hope will sooner or later see the light just as it did with Demon's Souls in this new videogame generation, perhaps thanks to the same study Bluepoint games.
