Life is Strange: True Colors, the game director reveals the differences with the previous chapters

On the occasion of the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase, which was held in the past few hours, Zak Garriss (game director of Life is Strange: True Colors) revealed several new information related to the next chapter of the series dedicated to the acclaimed videogame franchise of Square Enix, focusing on the protagonist (Alex Chen) and the main differences with his predecessors. We report in detail what has been said:

Alex has a supernatural sensitivity to the emotional states of others, allowing her to feel what they are feeling. It is not just the ability to read, or be aware of, the emotions of others. If the people around her feel anger, pain or terror, the emotion overwhelms Alex and she feels it too. It gives her an empathic connection with that person, it gives her an idea of what drives that individual's actions and what she is experiencing. Alex felt cursed by her powers, but decided to do something good with it.

But that's not all, as Garriss highlighted how Deck Nine (creators of Life is Strange: Before the Storm) wanted to give players more control over where they go and who they interact with within Haven Springs. The end result is a much larger game world than what fans have enjoyed in previous installments of the series.

Furthermore, Zak reiterated that all “Life is Strange” games are part of the same universe, for this reason in the presentation trailer shown at Square Enix Presents we saw the return of the character of Steph, and that although this is the fourth chapter of the saga we are not facing a real sequel. Precisely for this reason the development team has decided to abandon the order in sequence, associating the name "True Colors".

Waiting to find out more details on the latest effort by Deck Nine, we remind you that Life is Strange: True Colors the next one will debut 10 September 2021 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC and Google Stadia in three different editions (Standard, Deluxe e Ultimate Edition). The latter will allow you to access, in addition to some exclusive content, also the remastered of Life is Strange and LiS: Before the Storm.
