Mass Effect Legendary Edition: BioWare brings the legend back to life

BioWareIn partnership with Electronic Arts, announced through his official Twitter profile the Mass Effect Trilogy Legendary Edition, which will feature all three chapters of the series Mass Effect in remastered version  for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and for the next generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles. The announcement is made Casey Hudson of BioWare in the pages of the official blog of the company: "We have been listening to your requests for a Remaster of the trilogy for years and we are happy to announce it today!".

Casey Hudson, on the wave of enthusiasm generated by the announcement of the remastered Mass Effect trilogy, posted on the BioWare blog:

For several months now, our BioWare team has been working hard to update the textures, shaders, models, effects and technical features of three huge games. Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form. It was great to see Commander Shepard's adventures come to life with super sharp resolution, faster framerates, and gorgeous visual enhancements. As game developers, we always hope our games transcend their original platforms. Having the opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the fruits of a decade of our work will live on and be experienced better and more clearly than ever.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include core single player and DLC content from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, as well as promotional weapons, armor and packs, all remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD. It will be available in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with future compatibility and targeted improvements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. More information coming in the new year!

The announcement of the Legendary Edition isn't the only reason Mass Effect fans can rejoice today: Hudson said that a new chapter in the series is currently in development. BioWare has published an unpublished teaser trailer dedicated to the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, therefore expected to be released in the spring of 2021. The video, shown at the bottom of the news, awaits you. Good vision!
