PlayStation 5: this is how long the "exclusives" of the new console will last

Last 11nd June the highly anticipated event of Sony entirely dedicated to the launch lineup of the new one PlayStation 5, during which, in addition to having shown several titles, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon 2 Forbidden West and the promising Project athia, the design of Sony's next console has finally been unveiled. In the past few hours Eric Lempel, Head of Global Marketing and Consumer Experience of PlayStation, has expressed himself widely on what was shown at the event, in particular on the strategy that the company will adopt in the creation of exclusive titles for PlayStation 5. We report in detail the words of Lempel:

Our strategy will be similar to what we did with PS4, our teams talked to the developers long before releasing the product. We talked to them about what they wanted in a next generation console…. and many of their feedback has "influenced" the design of the PlayStation 5 architecture.

And with that, we found that they were creating some great games that fit so well with the platform and ambition we're trying to achieve. So we're really in luck because there are a lot of great titles, as you saw today, and a lot of them will be exclusive.

All in all, we have shown around 13 titles that will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5. These exclusive deals range from a few months to a couple of years. You've seen some great titles: Gearbox's Godfall, Bethesda's Death Loop, Square Enix's Project Athia ... What I'm really happy about is that, this time around, there are a large number of independent developers who will also be with us in the launch period. . So you've seen some of those titles today: Annapurna's The Pathless, Young Horses' Bugsnax. And then a franchise that dates back to the first PlayStation, with Oddworld. We have Oddworld Soulstorm from Oddworld Inhabitants… it's great to see how far that franchise has come and how it will be introduced to a whole new generation on PS5.
