Quantic Dream: announced the opening of the new studio in Montreal

Over the last few hours David Cage, CEO and founder of Quantic Dream, officially announced the opening of the new studio of the famous French software house, known above all for titles such as Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain e Beyond: Two Souls. This new new studio is in Montreal, Canada, and will allow developers to work on new and ambitious AAA titles at the same time. The study will be led by Stéphane D'Astous, who founded Square Enix Montreal and will lead Eidos Montreal, as General Manager, with Yohan Cazaux joining the studio as Gameplay Director. On the occasion of the announcement of the new study, Guillaume de Fondaumière, the studio's co-CEO and president of the new Montreal office, released a statement that clearly reveals Quantic Dream Montreal's future plans and ambitions.

The opening of Quantic Dream Montreal is an important step in our development. The implementation of several new projects leads us to commit to a major recruitment program for 2021 in all disciplines. Quantic Dream is preparing to open a new office in Montreal to be able to quickly build a team on a human scale, made up of experts from the region. We plan to recruit the majority of the team this year with around 50 positions created by the end of 2021.

As for the location of the studio, while smart-working is currently the norm due to the ongoing health emergency, the fully refurbished building is located in the historic Atwater Avenue neighborhood, and will be open to the new team as soon as the sanitary conditions allow it. As we have already anticipated, while David Cage and Guillaume de Fondaumière are currently still at the helm of the Parisian flagship, the new Canadian entity will be led by Stéphane D'Astous, a veteran of the industry from Quebec and renowned specialist in the management of creation and development studies, which intends to make future internal productions shine.
