Quiplash 2 InterLASHional - Review, the party game arrives on consoles

In recent years the development house Jackbox Games has literally established itself in the videogame market as far as the video sector is concerned party game, churning out many mini-games suitable for all ages, so as to spend a fun evening with both family and friends. The real success of these games has been above all the accessibility, as to play up to 8 people you will need to one copy of the game, while all the others can participate simply from the browser, without even downloading a dedicated application. Many of these minigames are sold in special collections, called precisely Jackbox Party Packs, but they can also be purchased individually and even the most successful games are also released individually on other platforms: this is the case with Quiplash 2 InterLASHional, which starting from next 3 December will also be available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in its multilingual version.

One of the most popular Jackbox Games minigames by the public will soon also arrive on consoles, in an edition that is completely identical in content to the one already available on PC published last April, which we have already talked about extensively in our review. So let's see what it will have to offer us in its version for the console Sony, which we have been able to preview in these days and which made us spend more than a few hours between challenges and laughter in company.

Any answer is legitimate

Quiplash 2 InterLASHional, in full “Cards Against Humanity” style, will subject the participants to a series of contexts and questions ranging from the most banal to the most absurd. It will therefore be the player's goal complete the sentence or answer the question in the most ironic, satirical or even out of context way possible - without letting the time run out - so as to impress the other competitors who will then have to vote for their favorite answer, obviously excluding their own. A very simple concept and that to read it also seems very easy, but we assure you that being able to respond in time and always being funny is not a walk in the park. For the slower and less imaginative, the game is played every round it also allows you to use an automatically generated response, but that will really rarely be more fun from the sentence written by the opponent, so we advise you to always answer the questions proposed (throwing it also on nonsense, it works more than you might think).

The match will be built on three rounds: the first two will be structured in the manner described above, with a series of questions to which the players will have to answer and vote their favorite line, while the third and final round will see all the competitors challenge each other to a common question, which will range from creating acronyms, completing a comic, inventing the name of a sport and so on. In this last challenge, players will then have to vote for their three favorite answers, forming a kind of podium, and whoever is the winner could grab a sum of points so high that they could overturn even what would seem the most obvious of the rankings. The beauty of this game is that each game will be different from the others, and until the end it will not be known for sure who will be the winner. However, we advise you not to abuse this single minigame too much, to avoid it becoming boring or even cloying after a few sessions.

Quiplash 2 InterLASHional with pad in hand

As already mentioned a few lines above, this console version of Quiplash 2 InterLASHional it offers nothing different compared to the version already present in the collections or for the edition already on the PC. However, its "international" version made it possible to localize this minigame in four other languages and for each language they have been added 100 new exclusive questions, which make the choice of this version even more tempting than the one in English only in the Jackbox Party Pack 3.

The real goal of this porting was above all to make available on as many platforms as possible one of the most popular minigames of the Chicago development house, which together with games such as Among Us o Fall Guys has allowed so many friends and relatives to get together and have fun together despite the quarantine. The ability to play in eight even with a single copy, and above all its absolutely affordable price, are an excellent combination to allow your family or group of friends to spend hours on hours answering hilarious questions and hilarious questions.
