This is news that is sure to give longtime fans a little displeasure Sony, Shawn Layden, well-known president of the bosses of PlayStation Worldwide Studios, is about to leave Sony. To disclose the news is a tweet on the company's official page, here is the statement:
“It is with great emotion that we announce that Worldwide Studios President Shawn Layden will depart from SIE. We will miss his visionary leadership greatly. We wish him success in his future endeavors and are deeply grateful for his years of service. Thanks for everything, Shawn! "
For those unfamiliar Shawn Layden, just know that he was with Sony for over three decades. He started in public relations way back in 1987, later worked as an assistant to the founder of Sony Akio Morita, then as a producer in Tokyo, until he reached important positions of the caliber of chief operating officer and, finally, president of PlayStation in the United States.
It is with great emotion that we announce that Worldwide Studios Chairman Shawn Layden will be departing SIE. His visionary leadership will be greatly missed. We wish him success in future endeavors and are deeply grateful for his years of service. Thanks for everything, Shawn!
