Sherlock Holmes 3: officially postponed the release date of the film

Warner Bros, the major owner of the franchise, has decided to move the release date of Sherlock Holmes 3 as of December 22, 2021 (the film was originally slated for Christmas 2020). No reasons were given on the decision of the new date, which will now coincide with the tenth anniversary of the release of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Robert Downey Jr. e Jude Law will reprise the respective roles of Sherlock and Watson, while it is not yet clear if Guy Ritchie, soon in theaters with Alladin's Disney live-action, will be back behind the camera. The screenplay will be Chris Brancato, making his film debut after decades of television series. the first film, released in 2009, grossed $ 524 million worldwide, while the second, released in 2011, raised $ 545 million.
