This time, alongside Sonic the Hedgehog in his battle against Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnick we will find in addition to Miles “Tails” Prower and Knuckles the Echidna, a new duo of characters already seen previously in Sonic the Hedgehog. In the initial menu of Sonic Mania Plus we will find the usual game modes that already exist, plus some news:
- Mania Mode - The main story mode traces the story of our protagonists as they search for the emeralds of chaos to foil the plans of the evil robotic doctor. The gaming experience remains the same as in the previous version.
- Bis Mode -Through this mode it will be possible to access a variation of the story of a parallel universe where, thanks to the power of a new stone, we will begin our journey to Angel Island. This story, very similar to the main one, differs in some respects. First of all, the present scenarios have been slightly modified to implement the use of the skills of the new protagonists with alternative routes and various mini-games scattered around the map. During the game we will unlock secondary characters to alternate according to the situation. These will in turn function as lives, given the substantial absence.
- Chrono Mode - With this mode we will be able to challenge ourselves at the best time on the various paths unlocked during our game.
- Competition Mode - This mode allows us to challenge our friends in a head to head to prove who is the best once and for all. Thanks to the new changes, it is now possible to play up to four players simultaneously. The winner is decided based on the total number of rings at the finish line, rings collected in general, score, objects found and time taken.
- Option - In the options we will have the possibility to set the game audio, view the commands, change the language and select cathode ray tube style video filters.
- Extras - Here we will find all the rewards that we will unlock by playing, such as: images, filters and much more!
