Sony Japan Studio loses two historical developers who worked on Gravity Rush and Bloodborne

Sony Japan Studio loses two developers due to an internal restructuring confirmed now more than a month ago. Through their social profiles, Kentaro Motomura e Shunsuke saito in fact, they confirmed that they had abandoned the company and their jobs.

The former is known for having worked as producer and senior producer in several products from the caliber of Dark Cloud, Wild Arms, Soul Sacrifice, Bloodborne, Demon's Souls remake and even the Everybody's Golf series. The second, on the other hand, is highly appreciated by the community for taking care of the character design from the Gravity Rush series. Both have been key figures in the company, working on some of the most acclaimed brands in the more than XNUMX-year history of PlayStation.

Unfortunately, these are not the only ones who have lost their jobs due to the internal restructuring of Sony Japan Studio, such as the producer of Masaaki Yamagiwa. Our hope is that the two developers will soon be able to find a new use, both in the videogame field and in any other business sector. Apparently, Kentaro Motomura has already confirmed that he plans to produce more video games in the future, but we still don't know the fate of Shunsuke Saito.

Sony Japan Studio losing two developers is certainly a sign of upheaval, so that we can concentrate forces on the authors of the Astro Bot series, namely the ASOBI team. According to the sources of our colleagues at VGC, the motivation is from the fact that Sony Japan Studio it has not proved profitable enough in recent years, as well as the focus of the titles published by Sony Interactive it is no longer just the Japanese audience but the western one.
