Splinter Cell: announced by mistake the next chapter of the series?

The next chapter in the saga of Splinter Cell could be officially revealed, live worldwide, on the occasion of theE3 2019. However, it was not Ubisoft to spread this information, but rather Julian Gerighty, one of the creative directors of The Division 2, who with a recent post on Twitter seems to have missed a rather significant detail.

Declaring in the light of the sun that he is involved in the development of the next Splinter Cell, and that he is looking forward to the well-known video game fair in Los Angeles, Gerighty therefore seems to have put in difficulty Ubisoft Montreal, who promptly tried to minimize what happened. The company, in fact, has apparently confirmed that there is nothing true in the words of the creative director - as clearly ironic and joking - and that the public would therefore do well not to expect any next title in the stealth series coming this year.

Whether it's really one joke, to stir the spirits of fans a bit a month before the American conference, we cannot know for sure at the moment - also because, the same Dan Hay (creative director of Ubisoft Montreal) retweeted the post of the colleague, which has not yet been removed after hours. We therefore just have to wait for any future developments regarding this bizarre matter, to understand if nothing is actually cooking at Ubisoft.
