Steam: The China version will be separate from the international one

Steam, the platform developed by Valve Corporation to PC, is in the pipeline in the great Asian country. The debut of the platform, however, will not see it as the one we know: it will be a different marketplace from the one that is commonly used by everyone. In fact Valve has collaborated with Perfect World in such a way as to create a version of Steam almost totally separate from the international standard one.

The new platform that will debut in China will be called Zhengqi Pingtai Chinese translation of “Steam Platform". This new independent store will allow Gabe Newell's company to better adapt to the strict laws governing the state of China. Steam in the past it came under investigation as in its catalog there are titles with explicit and violent contents. This stand-alone store will allow Valve to have more control over this part of the products contained within it.

According to Xiao Hong, CEO of Perfect World, this new Chinese version will guarantee high-speed servers for Chinese users, and will also be driven by capable and attentive operators. The release date is still unclear, but it has been announced that it will initially contain approximately 40 titles, including DOTA 2 and DOTA Underlords.

In the meantime, finally, we remind you that the international version that we all use of Steam continues to evolve and improve: Valve has made the methods for publishing content within its Steam Workshop even more strict.
