Cannes Film Festival: the event has been postponed due to the Coronavirus

After the numerous rumors that have been circulating for a few days about the worsening of the Coronavirus emergency in France and throughout the world, even the Cannes Festival, one of the most famous and anticipated film festivals of the year has been postponed to date to be allocated. Thanks to the new directives activated in France for the containment of the Coronavirus which provide for the prohibition of gathering over 5.000 people in confined spaces at least until May 31, 2020, the organizers confirmed the postponement through an official press release:

In this time of global crisis our thoughts go out to the victims of CO-VID19 and we express our solidarity with the people who are battling the disease. Today we made the decision: the Cannes Film Festival will not take place on the scheduled dates, from 12 to 23 May. Several options are being considered in order to preserve its execution anyway, the main one is a simple postponement between the end of June and the beginning of July 2020.

Due to the health crisis and the development of the French and international situation, the Festival de Cannes will no longer be able to take place on the dates planned, from May 12 to 23. More info # Cannes2020 ? https://t.co / peLmfw0gQW pic.twitter.com/SVWPasvU23

Although at the moment we are simply talking about a hypothetical postponement between the end of June and early July 2020 there is still no certainty, which will certainly come when there are consistent developments in the health situation in France and the rest of the world.
