Cyberpunk 2077: Marcin Iwiński talks about the next gen version of the title

After the controversial launch of cyberpunk 2077, the latest effort of the Polish software house CD Projekt RED, many players are wondering what the future of the title will actually be. To try to reassure the large number of users waiting to receive information on the release of a version of the game made specifically for the next generation consoles, Marcin Iwiński, co-founder of CD Projekt RED, spoke about the future of Cyberpunk 2077 and, more specifically, about numerous technical improvements planned within the new editions of the game, whose arrival seems expected in the course of 2021 through a heavy and ambitious game patch.

Through an interview granted to Bloomberg.TV, in fact, Marc Iwiński specified that the development studio is planning the release of a free update of Cyberpunk 2077 for all users who own the game and a next-generation platform, or who intend to purchase it over the next few months. By updating to the new edition, the title will be able to take advantage of all the new features and technical possibilities provided by the new platforms. Specifically, the version for PlayStation 5 of the title will be released in the course of 2021, it will be free for all players who have purchased the title on PlayStation 4 and will take full advantage of the console's features, including those of the DualSense controller. Here is his statement:

The consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S) are much faster. Also for this, we are planning a free update for those who have purchased a next-gen platform. So, if you buy the title now, you can already play it. It runs smoothly thanks to the most advanced capabilities of the next generation consoles. Subsequently, however, through our new update to the next-gen, we will do everything possible to take full advantage of all the functionalities and technical possibilities that the new generation consoles are able to offer us.
