Wii Sports: 15 years later, a user discovers a very interesting glitch

One of the games that certainly marked an era more than many others, in this case the years of the seventh generation of consoles, is Wii Sports, sports title that, together with the console Nintendo Wii, dominated the hardware and software sales of those years. After a long time, precisely 15 years, an avid user has managed to discover an in-game glitch, more specifically in the sport of golf. Surely, all console owners will remember the incredible novelty brought by the Wiimote controllers which, in a game of this genre, represented a striking novelty. That user Plyd823, a golf speedrunner from Wii Sports, after three decades has managed to discover an interesting glitch that allows you to shoot from anywhere on the course.

Quite simply, Plyd823 found that if a player disconnects their Wiimote during a sprint, the character Mii of the player will result as being disconnected. In this way the user has the possibility to hit the ball twice, but not only. For example, if a ball is thrown into a lake or pond, unplug the Wii Remote, double-hit, and then plug in the remote again, the player will be able to shoot their shot again even if they are inside the pond, lake or into the river. For a clearer and more understandable explanation, we refer you to video which you can find as always for your convenience at the head of the article.

A rather relevant discovery for the world of speedrunners, who have always been intent on finding glitches of any kind to improve the speed of completion of the game. Nintendo titles have always been famous for theirs eccellente quality productive, almost always close to perfection. It is in fact very difficult to find games of the big N with numerous bugs, glitches or various imperfections. Precisely for these reasons, the discovery of a programming error after 15 years can be considered as a truly striking novelty.
