Death Stranding: an update for PlayStation 5 coming?

According to the recent rather reliable rumors that are making their way on the forums of ResetEra, Death Stranding may soon receive a update for next-gen, arriving on Playstation 5 along with new additional content for the story. The information comes from leaker Navtra, a source that in the past had already disseminated information that later turned out to be true, such as news regarding Final Fantasy XIV and Final Fantasy 7 Remake by Square Enix. The rumors started running after the leaker spread this mysterious message:

If you are interested in Death Stranding but haven't played it yet, it might be worth waiting a little longer.

When a user asked if this news will come with a PlayStation 5 patch announcement, Navtra replied that "Even if there is an upgrade operation, I believe it will be paid since there will be new content for the story in this version". This response, combined with the original message, did nothing but arouse the curiosity of users, who immediately launched into predictions on when this much-requested next-gen upgrade might arrive. For longtime fans of Metal Gear Solid and in particular of Hideo Kojima, this news may not come as a surprise. Kojima has already released in the past an expanded version of Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. But the news would not stop there. According to Navtra, in addition to a graphic update they could also arrive new additions related to the story mode. A new version expanded in many aspects of Kojima's title could therefore be released.

The Japanese author had confessed some time ago that he was working on something new, and recently shared some suspicious drawings by the hand of Yoji Shinkawa. At the moment we have no official news yet, but we are sure that we will be back soon to hear about Sam Porter Bridges.
