Death Stranding arrives on Xbox, thanks to the new browser

The testers Xbox Group Alpha Skip-Ahead have accessed the browser Microsoft Edge, which has been updated on console for Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. Thanks to improved support for compatibility with Chromium, your browser will be able to run apps like those for Google Stadia, Discord and many others. Basically, this will allow compatibility with GeForce Now, which will allow Xbox players to be able to stream many of their games on Steam to their console, including exclusivity PlayStation Death Stranding and ray-traced-enabled versions of Cybperunk 2077, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and many others.

GeForce Now is also compatible with Epic Games Store, which means users will also be able to stream store exclusives including Hitman 3, Fortnite e Rogue Company. As noted by Joe Chip, as the Edge browser doesn't currently support a mouse on Xbox, and because some games require a mouse and keyboard, some titles like Quake 2 RTX they don't work well through the browser. The service differs from other similar ones, such as Stadia di Google, as it allows players to stream their existing Steam and Epic Game Store libraries to a range of devices such as smartphones or laptops.

The new Xbox browser could allow console players to stream games to their console via as well xCloud in the future once Microsoft will officially add browser support. This should also improve compatibility with services such as Skype or Discord. Thanks to this new possibility, Death Stranding and many other exclusives Sony may arrive on Xbox in the future. So we just have to wait for an official position from Microsoft, which will surely end up speaking openly on the issue: we will thus discover if this means of reproduction can continue to be used in the future.
