Demon's Souls Remake will not support ray tracing!

Demon's Souls Remake will not support ray tracing!

Bad news coming for anyone who couldn't wait to get their hands on the remake of Demon's Souls. According to what emerged from a recent interview by Gavin moore (creative director of the game and member of SIE Japan Studio) to the microphones of Level Up, the work of Bluepoint Games would be devoid of support for ray tracing, although the Japanese giant has repeatedly argued the opposite. That's why the development team decided not to implement this feature:

We're not actually going to use ray tracing in Demon's Souls. Not because we can't do it or because PlayStation 5 can't support it. The console is absolutely capable of holding it.

It's like any other graphics enhancement, there is a cost [to implement raytracing]. If we had decided to add this feature to the game, it would have forced the team to leave out something else. There is a limited time in the development of the titles.

When we started development, we didn't know there would be ray tracing in the game, so it wasn't in our original vision. What we wanted to focus on were the settings and the appearance of the characters. Everything is lighting in real time, with shadows in real time.

Waiting to get your hands on the license plate work Bluepoint games and on the next generation console of the Japanese giant, we remind you that PlayStation 5 will be available for purchase in our country starting from the next November 19 2020, at the price respectively of 499,99 € (PS5 "standard") and of 399,99 € (PS5 Digital Edition), already available for pre-order from k and at other selected retailers. In addition, in recent weeks, several retailers have anticipated the release date not only of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls Remake to 12 November.
