Certainly one of the most anticipated films in the hall by all fans of the sector is Dune, , transposition of the homonymous series of novels by Frank Herbert, directed by the talented director Denis Villeneuve.. In the last few hours, unfortunately, the news has arrived that many expected, but that no one would ever have hoped for: the release of the Canadian director's film was officially postponed to October 2021. This was announced exclusively by the well-known American online portal Collider, which reported the decision of Warner Bros. to postpone the arrival of Dune in the hall for almost a year, given the serious situation in which the United States still pours due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in which the ban on the opening of indoor public places such as theaters is still in force cinematographic.
The previous release date, set for next December 18, has been crossed out by Warner Bros., which has already tried to bring the general public back into the room with the release of a blockbuster like Tenet, however, receiving box office results absolutely below expectations. The latest effort by Denis Villeneuve is therefore added to the huge series of films postponed to next year and initially planned for this second half of 2020, such as for example No Time to Die, the next spy movie starring James Bond that slipped to April 2021, or Black Widow, the cinecomic about the origins of Natasha Romanoff that was delayed by Disney for May next year.
There is nothing left to do but arm ourselves with a lot of patience and wait for this bad situation, caused by the pandemic that has gripped us since the beginning of this year and which seems to accompany us for a few more months, will allow the whole world to return to the safe cinemas.
