Dying Light 2: the art director and writer has left Techland Publishing

2020 wasn't a particularly lucky year for Dying Light 2, the highly anticipated survival horror title developed by Techland Publishing whose release was initially scheduled for the first months of the past year. After a long and inexorable trail of postponements that have seen him as the protagonist, the sequel to the title released in 2016 may not have a better fate even during this 2021. A few months after the departure of Chris Avellone from the project and the development team after the scandal that saw him protagonist, Techland Publishing lost another great creative force after the artistic director and writer Pawel Selinger decided to leave the development studio after more than 22 years of career.

At the moment Selinger has not specified the precise reason why he decided to leave the Techland Publishing studio, which is why more and more users are wondering how are the current conditions of the title, which should now be in a more than advanced stage of development. At the moment Dying Light 2 does not yet have an official launch window, and even if the actual role of Pawel Selinger in the highly anticipated title has never been specified, its departure does not seem to promise well for what it will be. the future of video games.

Here is the statement made by Pawel Selinger on her personal profile Linkedin:

After over twenty-two years, I have decided to end my collaboration with Techland. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the company that has allowed me to develop and fulfill myself for more than half of my life. Techland, I will always be rooting for you, as well as for the amazing people I have met thanks to you over the years. I wish you that Dying Light 2 and all subsequent projects become incredible worldwide hits. Goodbye and good luck!

We want to reassure fans who await the arrival of Dying Light 2 after the departure of Techland's Art Director that the position is not compromised and has been held by Eric Cochonneau since November 2019. Eric has taken care of every aspect of the production ever since and the team under his leadership is doing their best to offer players the best possible game. Pawel Selinger, who has been a storytelling designer for the past 2 years, decided at the end of 2020 to end his cooperation with Techland and continue his career elsewhere. Pawel has spent most of his professional life at Techland and he, along with others, takes credit for the success of the Call of Juarez series. He left most of himself in Dying Light 2, as he worked on the project from the very beginning. His burdens were taken over by Piotr Szymanek in October 2020.
