Gamescom 2020: confirmation will arrive in May, sure it will be held digitally

Gamescom confirmed via email many new details regarding the 2020 edition of the famous Cologne fair. The event, which could skip due to the Coronavirus, is still uncertain and the organizers are taking all possible measures to avoid further problems to be resolved.

First, it is confirmed that the event will be held in its digital form: Gamescom Opening Night Live will be expanded, as will be added other useful activities to keep the spot on the video game and ads. These activities will be held from 25 to 29 August (preceded from 22 to 24 by DevCom).

Gamescom is the largest European event dedicated to video games (by number of visitors and space for exhibitors). During the fifth edition there were 340.000 visitors, more than 6.000 specialized journalists and 635 exhibitors from 88 different countries, each with its own stand. Also organized in August, the first edition of the fair was held in 2009 after the closing of the Games Convention in Leipzig from 19 to 23, in 2013 from 21 to 25, in 2014 from 13 to 17, in 2015 from 5 to 9 while in 2016 from 17 to 21.
