After the recent speculations, in the past few hours Warner Bros. Games and DC announced Gotham Knights, a brand new one open world action RPG in third person developed by Warner Bros. Games Montréal. In Gotham Knights, players will have the opportunity to take on the role of the characters of 4 members of the family of Batman. The title in question can be played alone or in pairs in online cooperative mode and will be available in 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X e PC.
We will have the opportunity to see a new generation of DC superheroes in an effort to prove himself in the role of protectors of Gotham City. The play is based on an original story set in the Batman universe and stages one Dynamic and interactive Gotham City where crime has spread like wildfire. Using the bell tower as a base of operations, this new generation of heroes will solve mysteries related to some of the darkest chapters in the history of the city and will have to confront well-known enemies in epic battles. Players must prevent Gotham from falling into chaos and pick up the baton left by the Dark Knight. Below we leave you all the characters that will be playable:
- Batgirl, born Barbara Gordon, fights with determination and is an expert hacker. She is the daughter of the late Gotham commissioner, Jim Gordon, and has previously helped Batman as the Oracle. Now, after years of training, she is ready to take on her new role wielding a melee tonfa and leveraging her knowledge of kickboxing, capoeira and jiu-jitsu.
- Nightwing is Dick Grayson, the first Robin, disciple of Batman until he became a full-fledged hero himself. He is a natural leader and the oldest and wisest member of the Batman family. Nightwing's unsurpassed acrobatic skills are perfectly matched by the use of his inevitable Escrima sticks, making him a very formidable opponent.
- Red Hood, once called Jason Todd, is an intense and unpredictable antihero who was killed and brought back to life by one of Batman's most fearsome enemies. Red Hood easily loses his temper, but he wouldn't hesitate a second to jump into the fray to save a friend in danger. His rigorous training has allowed him to achieve maximum performance both in combat techniques and in the use of weapons, whether traditional or technological.
- Robin is Tim Drake, the young prodigy and brainy of the team. It is unmatched in deductive reasoning. He made Batman's mission completely his own and is motivated by the belief that Gotham City needs protection. He hopes to become the kind of hero Batman played. Robin is an expert in the use of the folding cane and can move stealthily, but he has also studied psychological warfare techniques and behavioral sciences.
In Gotham Knights, players will be able to explore the open and dynamic world of five iconic Gotham neighborhoods and patrol the gloomy city streets using a variety of cross skills and heroic combat moves, as well as the iconic Batmoto. As and when Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood e Robin they will progress, their individual skills will evolve, and it will be possible to access an ever-growing arsenal of weapons and equipment.
