The books in Dead Rising 3 can be considered as perks that enhance the attributes of some weapons and skills of the character. There are 11 books in total, but they can be used one at a time.

Books can be found near the various safe houses scattered throughout the game. The effects of the books are different: some increase the amount of life regenerated with food, others decrease the damage taken or increase the duration of the weapons.
