In the past few hours, the famous director Martin Scorsese expressed his opinion on the hugely popular films produced by Marvel Studios. In fact, during an interview for Empire Magazine, Scorsese stated that he does not appreciate the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as, according to him, "they are not cinema". That is, those psychological and emotional nuances typical of human beings and cinematographic works would be missing.
I don't look at them. I tried, but it's not cinema. Honestly, the closest thing to those films, as much as they are well done and have actors doing their best under the circumstances, are the theme parks. It is not a cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional and psychological experiences to other human beings.
