Microsoft: does the agreement with Bethesda serve to push the Game Pass?

As you know towards the end of 2020 theofficial announcement who has seen thecompany of Redmond enter into a sensational agreement for the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, parent company of Bethesda Softworks which includes among the largest and most acclaimed teams of developers and publishers in the world, an incredibly talented group of over 2.300 people worldwide franchise managers of the likes of Wolfenstein, DOOM, The Elder Scroll, Fallout, Prey, Quake, Dishonored, Starfield and many more. A historic acquisition that still hides many details, such as whether or not these various intellectual properties will become exclusive to Microsoft. The answer to this question, however, seems to have already been disclosed last November, as noted by. Journalist Tom Warren via his Twitter account where he reposted a statement from Tim Stuart, CFO of Microsoft:

if you're wondering how Microsoft will handle Bethesda games and exclusives on Xbox, look at what Xbox CFO Tim Stuart said back in November. A "first or better" approach with Xbox Game Pass. pic.twitter.com/RQ82sfHWdn

Our intention is not to remove Bethesda content from Sony and Nintendo platforms. We rather want that content to be available earlier and / or in a better version on our platforms. Ultimately our real goal is not to have those exclusive contents, what we want is that they are available in better form on Xbox Game Pass: we want to push subscriptions to the service thanks to Bethesda productions.

This statement may therefore have already removed any doubts about the Bethesda-branded titles, which could turn out to be temporal exclusives and come out in digital format only on the Game Pass. More explanations about it could arrive in the next few days during a alleged Microsoft event which we are talking about in these hours. In fact, during the last episode of his podcast, the journalist and insider Jeff Grubb said Microsoft products will hold a event in which the historic acquisition of Bethesda. In this sense, however, there have not yet been any official statements, and therefore we invite you to take these rumors with a grain of salt.
