No Time to Die: The film has been postponed again

MGM e Universal they moved the new movie of James Bond No Time to Die al April 2 2021, since the latest wave of COVID-19 has convinced the producers of the film that there are still no favorable conditions for the theatrical release. That move came a few days after the choice by Disney to postpone most of the films in the program, in particular Black Widow which was scheduled for release on November 6 but has been moved to May 2021. The director of the film Cary Joji Fukunaga said:

MGM, Universal and Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced today that the release of No Time To Die, the 25th film in the James Bond series, will be postponed until April 2, 2021 to give way to the public to be able to see it in a movie theater. We understand the delay will be disappointing for our fans, but now we can't wait to share No Time To Die next year.

With so many parts of the world still fighting the COVID-19, the various studios have therefore understood that it is almost impossible to set certain release dates for their films. There Warner Bros. made a real leap in the dark with Tenet and, albeit abroad, we recorded some respectable numbers, cashing in 215 million dollars internationally from 54 countries, in US cinemas it has struggled a lot, cashing in "just" 36 million dollars.

For No Time to Die specifically there is also the problem of a second wave of infections in the UK, an essential market for any film belonging to the Bond saga. New cases per day in Britain have increased since 1.295 on September 1 to nearly 5.000 three weeks later. In response to the new wave, the prime minister Boris Johnson announced new social restrictions, warning that these new precautionary measures could remain in place for the next six months if the virus is not contained.
