PlayStation 4 Pro: are the stocks of the console running out?

The launch of the new consoles, which now took place on 10 November for Xbox Series X / S and on 12 November (America and the rest of the world) and 19 November (Europe) for PlayStation 5 e PlayStation 5 All-Digital, it was certainly not the best. Thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic which has now been present for almost a year, the stocks of all the machines are very small and, although the pre-orders have been sold like hot cakes for almost every console, not all have managed to obtain the much loved and hoped for machine game booked. Even today, almost a month later, every single console remains a truly unobtainable object both in physical and online stores. Also PlayStation 4 Pro, the improved version of the past generation Sony, it seems to be ending.

This hypothesis arises from the fact that a USA page of the PlayStation Direct, where you can buy the 1 TB version in question, read:

There are currently no plans to replenish this item in the future.

A sentence that leaves very few interpretations to the thought and that could therefore mean the end of the life cycle of the console. Difficult to say. It generally takes years for a generation to pass away, even more so for production to end. The reason behind this sold-out could simply be due to the Christmas holidays which, as we know, are the most suitable time of year for purchases and gifts especially of this kind. That said, there is also the hypothesis that Sony may no longer leverage a product considered mid-gen and that was born with the aim of improving a machine that was almost perfect in its own right and that, with the arrival of PS5, the high-end range has succeeded. PlayStation 4 will certainly remain on the shelves for much longer, but the same could not be said of the PlayStation 4 Pro which, at this point, could "abdicate".
