PlayStation 5: Jim Ryan on the prices of next-generation games

With the advent of the new generation of consoles Sony e Microsoft products, respectively PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X / S video game prices have risen further 10,00 euro approximately. An example? The Remake of Demon's Souls for PS5, launched at the price of 79,99 € compared to 69,99 € which, in almost every case, represented the starting figure of a PlayStation 4 game for the entire generation (about 7 years). Jim Ryan, President of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), spoke on the subject in a recent interview with the Edge portal:

We have organized ourselves in order to create the games in the best possible way. Once a title's development is complete, we decide what is the best price to sell it for. We don't start with a precise figure already in mind, at the beginning of a game's development, so we don't adapt to it. At launch we study a range of pricing possibilities and this will always be as we advance in our cycle.

I think you will see some interesting price changes relative to the titles offered by the various Worldwide Studios. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, for example, launched midway through our cycle and proved to be a great market move at the time. Our studios are working on many different projects at present.

Before closing, we invite you to take a look at our review di PlayStation 5. Also, in case you haven't already, take a look at one PS5 in the style of PlayStation 2 imagined by a user. Moreover, recently it has unfortunately been confirmed that that of Euromediashop relative to the incredible offers for the sale of various units of PlayStation 5 it turned out to be a scam (equal to about 800.000 thousand euros). Finally, a few days ago, according to Bloomberg, sales recorded by Sony for PlayStation 5 in Japan turned out to be below expectations.
