PlayStation 5: shown all the internal components of the console in a video teardown

today Sony has published a new video on its official YouTube channel in which all the parts are shown in detail hardware present within PlayStation 5. In this teardown video presented by Yasuhiroo Otori of the Mechanical Design department of the Japanese company, we can see closely every component inside the new console, which after the first tests will be disassembled piece by piece starting from the pedestal that secures its position vertically or horizontally, and that it can be easily detached and repositioned to be able to arrange it in the way you prefer.

The version chosen for this demonstration video was one Standard version of the console, so the front of the external body has the input port for CDs, a USB Type-A input and a USB Type-C input, while on the back we find two other USB Type-A ports, an input for the LAN cable, one HDMI port and one for console power. It is then shown how it will be easy to detach the two white panels placed on the sides of the unit, which will greatly facilitate the internal cleaning of the PlayStation 5 thanks to two convenient dust compartments, and immediately below we find the two ventilation fans placed on the sides of the system. Just below one of the two fans we also find the compartment where it will be possible to expand the internal memory of the console, easily accessible by anyone who wanted to use it.

Having said that, Otori goes on to analyze and show the innermost parts, such as the motherboard of the console on which the processor, which reaches 3,5 GHz, and the But by the full GPU acceleration tech, capable of reaching 2,3 GHz and with a computing capacity of 10,3 TFLOPS. Subsequently we can notice the disposition of the RAM and SSD with a capacity of 825 GB and with a custom controller that allows a reading speed of about 5,5 GB per second. Finally, we move on to the System-on-a-Chip, which due to the high power needs to be cooled by a revolutionary system that uses liquid metal to avoid overheating of the system, and this also justifies the presence of a big one Heatsink which covers most of the motherboard.

So here is the video that many fans were waiting for, in which we finally took a closer look at what will be present inside the PlayStation 5, which justifies its modest size as it presents all major components located on the motherboard, and this requires the presence of a very powerful and performing ventilation and cooling system, to the detriment of the size of the system.
