PlayStation 5: The Sony console will not have the Quick Resume

As we had already anticipated in our previous article, Xbox Series X | S will introduce a new and interesting feature: the Quick resume. The new functionality of the next-gen console from Microsoft will allow players to instantly switch between open titles, even after turning off the console. Thanks to the use of solid state hard drives (SSD), Microsoft engineers were able to reset the loading times of the games and, thanks to this function, players will be able to switch from one game to another without having to wait for annoying waiting times. Moreover, as reported in our previous article, some evidence suggests that it will be possible to hold pending until Giochi 12 simultaneously. For a while we believed that the same feature would also be present in a PlayStation 5, but according to the latest rumors about it, it seems that this will not be the case.

As far as in the Dashboard there is a named function Switches, at the moment the latter only lists the most recently played titles. Through the Switcher it will be possible to switch to a title other than the one currently active, but the previous one will be restarted. It will be interesting to see if the Japanese giant plans to roll out something similar to the competition at a later date or if it feels its SSD's overall speed is good enough to match the Quick Resume. At launch, we point out, this feature will not be present on PlayStation 5.

For the uninitiated, Sony will launch the console in the US next November 12, at the price of well dollars 499,99, while on European soil it will arrive on the market exactly one week later. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, a version without a reader sold to dollars 399,99. To conclude, we advise you to read a our editorial in which let's compare the two versions of PlayStation 5.
