PlayStation 5 will go on sale today on PS Direct, but not for all users

It seems that Sony is preparing to launch another sizable one wave of PlayStation 5 consoles via its PlayStation Direct system today, Tuesday 13 April. Although the company, at least for the most part, tends to sell these consoles by queuing potential customers, it appears that today's sale instead it will be for a select group of people which have been specially chosen.

Sony started send emails to a number of people yesterday pomeriggio to inform them that today they will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase a PlayStation 5 from the PS Direct service. These emails come with a special link that users can click on at a certain time to be directed to a page where they will only be able to purchase a console for themselves. As for today's sale, it appears that will start around 15pm, but we don't know exactly how long it will last.

In the past, the company typically warned potential customers as a whole that a queue was about to open and will allow anyone to come in and try to purchase the console. These exclusive releases, although they have appeared more frequently in recent times, have not been seen since last year, when Sony first opened pre-orders for its PlayStation 5.

The downside to this replenishment is that unless you have been mentioned on this specific mailing list, you will probably not be able to access this new sales stock. Sony appears to be sending these messages to anyone who has chosen to receive marketing emails when registering for their PlayStation account. So, if you haven't activated them, you may need to change your settings in order to receive the exclusive invitation. Hope is the last to die, but this type of initiative could make some users turn up their noses, who will once again remain dry-mouthed.
