PlayStation console owners in Japan can apply to extend their console's warranty within one year of the initial warranty period. The extended warranty allows for up to two console repairs. However, the warranty is void if the console has been exchanged. The PlayStation Vita, Sony's second portable console after the PlayStation Portable, was first launched in Japan in December 2011 with a worldwide release in 2012. Production of the console has ended at March 2019. In recent years, Sony has gradually phased out official support for the handheld console. For example, it removed pre-PS4 games from the PlayStation Store inOctober 2020. People have even reported difficulties accessing Vita's PlayStation Store in December 2020.
