Project Ragtag: released some details on the canceled Star Wars title

In the past hours Zach Mumbach, the former producer of visceral Games, shed light on the game of Star Wars deleted from the studio, which was under the creative direction of Amy Hennig di Uncharted before Electronic Arts abandoned the project and closed the studio in 2017. The title, codenamed Project Ragtag, would have centered on a character described as a mix between Star-Lord and Robin Hood and, according to Mumbach himself, could have been the best Star Wars game ever made. Speaking of a new episode of the MinnMaxShow, Mumbach revealed that many elements of the video game were ready, while others still required some work to be completed.

We had levels, they weren't completed but they were very close to being. We had a piece of scene that was pretty much finished, we were putting the finishing touches right when the studio closed. I think we would have made the best Star Wars video game ever made. The story, the characters and the setting were poised for success. But what we wanted to do was going to take a really long time, and I think the company understood that.

Mumbach also explained how the last phase of work on the title was, talking at length about the constant changes within the development studio. Many people decided to leave the project to work on other projects, such as a Marvel's Avengers, the title of Crystal Dynamics which will arrive next September 4th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia and PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X at the time of their launch. Among the ready-made parts of Project Ragtag, the former producer particularly recalled the scene of a chase with an AT-ST, of which he then recounted the details

There was this crazy moment with an AT-ST that was really cool. You were running away from it on foot, while it was trying to hunt you down but you were more agile, slipping through alleyways, staggering and crashing, using all of Frostbite's destruction. You probably would have said "Oh, it's kind of Star Wars Uncharted".
