Resident Evil 2: The remake is about to exceed the sales of the original game for PS1

Capcom recently revealed that the remake di Resident Evil 2 is approaching sales of the original game released way back in 1998. The remake released in 2019 has sold well 4,7 million units as of September 30, while the 1998 version sold a total of 4,96 million. However, it must be pointed out that the "old" Resident Evil 2 was available exclusively for PlayStation, while the current remake is a cross-platform title. We are sure that with the arrival of the holiday season, this figure is set to increase significantly.

Capcom later disclosed financial data from the sales of its other titles, such as: Devil May Cry 5 (with 2,7 million copies sold), Mega Man 11, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition e Okami HD (all reached the milestone of one million sales). Overall, data in hand, Capcom is having a great financial year, showing itself to be quite optimistic about the future as well. The company has already announced that it plans to relaunch some pending franchises, leading fans to request new remakes of Dino crisis e Darkstalkers.
