Resident Evil Village: new details on story, gameplay and enemies revealed

In the last issue of Weekly Famitsu Magazine there was a big two page article devoted to Resident evil village, the eighth installment of the historic horror series by Capcom, in which they were unveiled lots of new details about the main storyline, the gameplay and the various enemies we will encounter in this haunted village. Thanks to the translation work of Alex Aniel, one of the most famous insiders and fans of this brand on Twitter, we can find out what was shown in the large space that the Japanese magazine has dedicated to survival horror coming out in 2021.

Famitsu first confirmed that Chris Redfield will take Ethan inside the mysterious village lost in the middle of the mountains just as you could see in one of the trailers shown so far. In addition, our protagonist will remain unconscious all the way and when he wakes up he will already be inside a house in this unknown place. The villagers can be seen in one of the photos within the article, holding hands in a circle presumably around Ethan.

Among these shady figures we can see a man wearing a particular waterproof coat and that could be a merchant who will help us in our adventure selling us items useful for our purpose, or an old lady holding a long stick with a goat skull set on top, which could be the shaman of the village. Finally, there was a particular focus on Mia's photo album which, in addition to containing a story similar to what Ethan is experiencing inside this mountain village, could hide the key that will allow our protagonist to escape from this terrifying place.

After the many information also revealed by the demo shown at TGS 2020, these new details allow us to have a much broader general picture of Resident Evil Village, which could really overwhelm the success obtained by its prequel, released in 2017 and which obtained an excellent feedback from both the public and critics. For now, an official date has not yet been released for the launch of Capcom's new survival horror, which will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in an unspecified period of 2021.
