Resident Evil Village: will the title be longer than Resident Evil 7?

Resident evil village was presented in the reveal evening of Sony PlayStation 5 and it is already making a lot of talk about itself. The title will arrive on the Sony Console, on Xbox Series X and PC. Finally the main series, the one that was temporarily pending with Resident Evil 7, will continue after Capcom had recently focused more on remakes of classic 90s titles. While work continues on the reinterpretation of Resident Evil 4, a highly appreciated title released for PlayStation 2 in 2005, positive and negative voices arrived on Village that basically spoke of the gameplay in general, of the first person view, of the protagonists present (and therefore of the return of Chris Redfield) and the setting. He's finally back to talking via Twitter too Dusk Golem, the well-known insider known as AestheticGame, who answered some questions asked by fans on the same platform.

Speaking of the length of the video game, he reveals that it will not be excessive, but that it will exceed that of the previous title. Furthermore, the experience and its duration may differ depending on the player's approach. According to his words, there will be greater attention to exploration especially of external environments, which seem to be very extensive and on which developers are also focusing to make the most of all the potential of next-gen consoles. For this reason, and for the problems caused by the global pandemic, development is slightly delayed. According to Dusk Golem, in fact, the new Resident Evil will not see the light before the first quarter of 2021, but we still cannot think of a precise date, but of a launch placed in the second quarter. At the beginning of this month the developers had ensured that the game was about 60%, but we have been accustomed, lately, to very sudden confirmations and denials.

We remind you that being an insider, none of this information is confirmed, and consequently we invite you to take them as mere rumors, awaiting official communications from Capcom. Below, Dusk Golem's tweets.

Don't expect RE8 to be a very long game, but I have heard it'll be the longest RE Engine game. Specifically I heard it'd be about 2-3 hours longer than RE7, but the specifics are highly subject to so many variables of play style, just simpler to say the longest RE Engine game. https://t.co/PU29QUNPbs

Even if RE8 was released in Q1, it would've been in development for 4 years.

That said, it's looking more it'll be a Q2 release right now, but let me say this right now, they haven't 100% pinned a date down yet. https://t.co/G5EPSHmd1f
