Spawn: Todd McFarlane claims to be in talks with a great actor

Although the Coronavirus has temporarily suspended the production and distribution of a large number of cinematographic works, some are already thinking about the future. In a recent interview with ComicBook, Todd McFarlane is back on the much-discussed cinematic reebot of Spawn and stated that he is currently in talks with a great actor, who could literally "blow up the Internet":

About a month ago I had a big fish in my hands, but it definitely didn't go well. We got an offer for, I believe, an even bigger fish. There aren't actually many who can boast the same fame as the first guy, but we'll see. If you can get the new name involved in the project, it will literally blow up the internet. So, we will see, at the moment I have nothing concrete on my hands, as under normal circumstances it would take about a week or two for a response, but at the moment everything is completely stopped. We keep our fingers crossed.

    Previously Todd McFarlane had declared:

Everyone in Hollywood wants an R-rated obscure comic book movie, and Spawn tops their list. The calls are coming in fast. I talked to a couple of people at the Oscars, I had to line up investors. Something has changed since the Joker movie came out, they begged me to do a "dark and creepy" Spawn.

The title sees in the cast Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) as Al Simmons (Spawn) is Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye in the MCU, Arrival, Catch Me!) As Detective Maximillian “Twitch” Williams. Greg Nicotero, The Walking Dead makeup artist, will take care of the makeup and special effects. The film will be produced by Jason Blum and its Blumhouse Production. Some rumors had spoken of the abandonment of the project by Jamie Foxx, but they have not found concrete confirmation.
