Star Wars, a famous film saga and, by now, which has become a real fanchise, is ready to return to the market for mobile game. After some titles, among which we mention Heroes of the Galaxy and a collaboration with Angry Birds, a new mobile title will be released at the end of 2021. This was confirmed by the Californian production house Zynga with a note released on the sidelines of the event during which the economic results of the last quarter of 2020 were analyzed. "We expect to launch our first Star Wars themed video game through a soft launch in the summer and to release it at the end 2021 “: precisely with these words, the company launched the project.
First of all, we must clarify that practically nothing is known about the title that Zynga, specialized in the mobile games market, is developing for Star Wars, nor, above all, do we know if it will be a free to play with in-game microtransactions. We know, however, that the Californian software house has opened a new production studio in Austin, Texas, to work specifically on this new and exciting project and to bring the graphics and gameplay of AAA titles to mobile games. Also, the CEO of the company Frank Gibeau, during the usual Q&A with investors, he ensured that we will know more about the project in the first part of 2021. In short, an interesting year for the series created by George Lucas.
Meanwhile, the Star Wars themed content does not end there. Ubisoft, in fact, it is working in synergy with Lucasfilm for the creation of an open world title (let's talk about it in more detail here). In addition, the collaboration with Electronic Arts, which began with the series Battlefront. In short, the franchise that has brought us into space since 1977, has no intention of stopping and in 2021 it seems that we will often board different and always new spaceships to explore the cosmos.
